What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX
I moved into my apt a year ago. Several days after moving in I started seeing roaches. I reported the problem but was told by maintenance the exterminators spray every 3 months and between those times all they are allowed to do is spray around the main baseboards.
Since that time I have continued to have an issue with roaches. I have a child afraid to sleep and it is so bad now I wake up to find them crawling over my stored food and dishes. I made another complaint that so far has been ignored.
My lease is up end of July but I can't afford to the non lease rent amount they are asking so I will have to resign.
What rights do I have if any?
Can I force them to move me to another unit?

Why do you think there will be no roaches in another unit?

Have you taken video of the infestation?
Have you called your local code compliance folks?

Have you considered purchasing products to deal with this issue yourself from local Big Box stores? Sprays, bombs, Boric acid (for example)?

Why do you feel you must resign your lease? If your lease concludes at the end of July and you believe management isn't addressing your concerns adequately, it would seem smarter to find another place to reside.
