What is the name of your state? MD

Got a call Saturday night from our one tenant letting me know there was a fire at the house and the fire department was there. The tenant left a candle unattended in the master bathroom and it must have tipped over and caught the blinds on fire along with the bathroom door, trim, wall, etc. The tenant's insurance company is taking care of it. Make sure if you have tenants moving in that they have renter's insurance and enough liability coverage to take care of negligent acts.

And remind them of the risks of candles and their liability should their stupidity CAUSE a fire.
