What is the name of your state? TN
I am a graduate student at a state school in Tennessee. I have, on file with the Office for Students with Disabilities, a folder specifying my disability (learning, not physical) that I've had since I was an undergraduate at the same institution. As is recommended, I spoke with each of my professors at the beginning of the semester and explained to them that I have a learning disability and may need special accomodations. I have had no problems and was a 4.0 student until this semester--not only did one of my professors violate my right to privacy by telling my ENTIRE class that I had a learning disability, using me as an EXAMPLE, and then interrogating me about my disability, she then gave me a B in the class when ALL of my work had grades of A!!! I filed a grade appeal but did not mention the violation of my privacy. Should the appeal fail, I plan to take further action--if not for my grade, then because of my status as a disabled person whose privacy was completely and publicly violated. What options do I have and do I need a lawyer? If so, who specializes in such cases?

You have not given any facts on which to base an opinion.

Other than, if you don't get your way you're going to file a complaint. Which means you either don't have grounds for a valid complaint, or you are playing childish games.
