What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Court order is in Georgia where NC mother lives and I live in Fla. with primary physical custody and we are to share joint.
Nc mother has not seen or spoken with the child in close to 4 now. I have not received any child support in over 3 yrs and she is in arrears of over $15,000. St of Fl pursued Ga for CS and Ga notified Fl that NC mother was receiving SSI and that they can not touch any of that money for CS.
I would like to know if I can terminate her parental rights without the use of a lawyer? (I have no money for fees) and what steps or requirments needed to go forth with this action?
What are the guidelines for me to terminate her rights? As in how long with no contact, with me or the child. Abandonment requirments? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
I want to know this info due to job transfer out of state. Our court papers state that we are to notify each other of residence change within 7 days and I have not had any contact with her in yrs. Much less knowing her address or phone number to contact her of even a emergency arising with the child.
So.. I'm eager to see what everyone has to say... My wife lives for this website and says that I can find all my answers here...
Thank you all
