TX. I have a friend who was recently laid off. They are offering him a 2 weeks sev package if he signs a waiver. They also owe him 9 days of accrued vacation. The company is stating since they have a use or lose policy on vacation he can not be compensated for it. Q1) what is the legal remedy to this problem? Q2) where can he get the legal documentation to back up his claim? Q3) should he sign the waiver? or will he lose his recourse on getting his back vacation pay?
