What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI

Ladies and Gentlemen… I enrolled in a graduate program at top tier university using a little income and the student loans to cover tuitions and the expenses for a family of five. As a result, I did not do very well and my grades were always just above the minimum. My troubles started when my GPA got below the red line and I was placed under academic probation. The next semester, I worked very hard to get out of probation, at the end of that semester I received an INCOMPLETE grade for one class because of medical reason, but two weeks later I finished the required course work and the instructor emailed the department to change the grade to (A-) which was sufficient to pull me out of probation status. The department emailed him back and told him to change it himself using instructors’ computer access, but he never did. I kept calling and emailing him, he never answered me back, and the department did not care. Subsequently the grade change never got to the university records, probation period expired and my GPA still below minimum; as a result, I got dismissed from the university, lost everything and ended up in the street with over 100K of student loans. Assuming that everything I claim is true, the question is can you see a legal basis to go after the university? Thank you

Did you contact the registrar, dean, walk into the office and ask to sit down and watch the process get resolved?

When something is as of vital importance as you described, wouldn't an "in-person" visit to the university have gotten results?

During this dismissal, did you got to the school and get it figured out? Why have you not had meetings with financial aide, the dean, the department, etc?

Why are you in grad school at all if you are using student loans to feed five kids? Go get three real jobs and provide for the kids, and only do grad school if you can do it on top of taking care of business.
