I rented an apartment without a lease or application, lived there almost a year before I was asked to sign a years lease on April 1st to commence for the following term starting June 1st. On or around may 15 I was asked to move out to allow another perspective tenant to move in who was in the process of buying an adjacent lot to the property where I lived also owned by the landlord, this wouild allow to live there while he built his house on it.

I would like to know that if a verbal agreement between myself and the landlord was made to move out prior to the commencement of my lease will I still be liable for the term of that lease due to the potential tenant backed out and I had already moved out to accommodate.

2nd question: If we were paying for electricity in part of the neighboring apartment and the landlord refused to fix. What are my options? This has been going on for several years and several tenants that I have come to find out and continues to refuse to fix. Can I start a class action and or sue for damages alone.
