Palm Beach County, Fla. I discovered a little over a year ago that my name still appears on the deed of the property that my ex and I purchased in 1992 because he failed to pay all of what was determined under the Settlement Agreement, We were divorced in 1995. I moved back to my home state of Texas in 1996 and notified him of my new address.

Under the Settlement, I was to receive a total of 18k, with 9k due at signing, $4,500.00 at the 1st anniversary, and $4,500.00 due at the 2nd anniversary. He paid the 9k, and I recall a check for $1,200.00 in '97 or '98, then I got on with my life and forgot all about it until I came across the papers last year.

I spoke to my ex a couple of times last year and he admitted that yes, he still owes me some money, though neither of us has a clue as to how much, and he needs to get the deed cleared.

The Agreement says that I should've received a Mortgage Receivable, whatever that is, to be filed in the event that he fails to pay up. I don't have such a document.

I've called him a twice over the last month, leaving voice mail on both his home and cell phones. Also sent an email. No response!

What are my rights and how do I get this resolved? Yes, I could use the "pennies from heaven". The money is not an issue for him, it's pure procrastination!
Help!!

You will need to file for contempt, in FL. If money isn't an issue for him, then its likely that he will settle up with you fairly quickly at that point.
