we live in texas, my husbands child support case is based in texas. he has been unemployed for a year and his unemployment compensation ran out months ago. he has no income but is convinced that his child support will not be reduced just because he cannot find a job. i am working and supporting him and my son. does he have justification in seeking legal advice to reduce his child support payments? also, will i be held responsible for his child support since i am the only income in the family? (my sons father pays child support sporadically, sometimes not for months at a time. our case is in pennsylvania and the support for my eleven year old son is less than HALF of what my husband is supposed to pay for his four year old daughter) someone versed in texas child support law please let me know what we can do. thanks!

Hi, Not versed in law but have been in the courts in Texas for child support and custody a lot between my Husband now, ex, and his ex. He can file to have his child support reduced, don't know if it will work. You will not be responsible for his support from your income unless you own a business together. He will continue to accrue back child support if he doens't pay someway and Texas isn't quick to come after you, so he won't get hounded for a while unless his ex pushes it. Good Luck
