I currently live on 9.1 acres. The county recently adopted an ordinance restricting hunting and firearms usage on tract less than 10 acres in a "subdivision". I have contacted the county appraisal district who reviewed my property. They stated that my property is not within a subdivision nor is in itself considered a subdivision. I was hoping to gain some clarity on if this ordinance applies to me since my land is not considered a subdivision nor is located within a subdivision.

The county is the one that makes the determination of the subdivision status. I'd have to defer to them.

If you're talking about the LGC 235.022 law, there are four things that have to be met:

1. Property has to be in a subdivision.
2. Less than 10 acres
3. Be in an unincorporated area of the county
4. There must be a local ordinance created by the county commissioners banning the use of firearms or airguns

Understood. So I'm guessing that since the County appraisal district stated my property was not in a subdivision then this more than likely would not apply
