I live in Wylie,TX. The landlord had given me (in writing) the house in which I am currently still renting . They said I could move the house to another location when they were ready to sell the property it sits on. They are now ready to sell the property and give me first choice to buy the entire lot with house or move the structure to another location. I guess my question is why can't I have the option of just purchasing the land. The house is over 100yrs. old. When I first agreed to rent the place the landlord was going to demolish the house and make the lot for parking. Now that I have fixed the place up with all my time and labor it is now magically worth something to them. What are my options if any?

What does it say about giving it to you? is there a price on the house? how is it worded? how long do you have to make a decision?

does it say anything about reimbursing you for your labor and repairs?

The giving part that has to be explained.

PS...THIS IS A COMMON LOW LIFE REDNECK TRICK,

GET SOME STOOGE (you) TO PAY YOUR MONEY TO FIX UP THE HOUSE THEN WHEN YOU HAVE... NO MONEY,.... OR JUST GOT LAID OFF, GIVE YOU FIRST CHANCE TO BUY IT.

THEN THEY REPOSESS IT AND EVICT YOU....NEAT KEWL!

L has not reneged as you still can have the house, you just need to move it to another location. If you really have the money to buy the land, then make an offer at land value only.

reply to lanlord in Wylie,Tx

Hello and thanks for the quick responses! To finish the story in Wylie,TX... My landlord is the United Methodist Church that I am a member of. They have recently sold our church sanctuary and need to sell this property that I reside in to help pay outstanding bills. Do you fine folks know of any laws in Texas that deal with the condition of a structure (wiring,plumbing,foundation,etc...)for inspection code purposes? They know the condition of the previously mentioned items, yet they are giving me first chance at purchasing for $85K. On the other hand, they still acknowledge I can move the structure. They will be left with an empty lot. As of this moment they have not entertained the subject of me purchasing the lot with structure as is .

OH GEE a REDNECK CHURCH.....WOW good going guy!!!!

So is the land worth 85K? Then offer to buy it.

If its inflated then you see how rednecks act when they need money....doesnt matter if its a church,

Just trying to be fair and realistic about your prospects.

And a little insight to the ways of Rednecks.

Why do you think they would offer to sell it to you for say $10k-15k LESS then the market value, because you are a good church going member, and you put your money and sweat into the property?

NAH...you know they want to charge you MORE because you fixed it up, so its like paying DOUBLE for the house.

It it will cost you a lot to move it, and if is structally not sound, they wontlet you move it because the city will not issue a permit......so youre SCREWED!

Then what?

You see being a redneck is something thats inbred, you just cant lern it!

Like i said....if 85K is a great deal then im sorry....

But i have seen so many people like you put their hard earned money into the landlord property just to get ripped off like this.

And they all seem to have this thing about being a redneck... stereotype maybe...

But YOU are the one that is angry over them for now realizing the house is NOW worth something due to your labor....and YOU want to get a deal on the property, and 85K doesnt sound like a good deal to you......right?
