Went into Goodyear for an oil change, Goodyear staff noted i had a temporary plug in my oil pan and suggested to change the PLUG for about 8 dollars. Total oil change expense was $29 and change. I hit the road to go to NC to see my parents. I drove about 220 miles, stopped to walk the dog and noticed oil pouring out of the oil pan. I immediatley went to a service station and they noted the plug area had been stripped. It was 5:15PM and they closed at 5. however they attempted to identify a replacement plug for 45 minutes but said it was stripped and needed to replace the entire oil pan.
At this point I had to spend 125 dollars for a hotel room...I called American Express for emergency authorization for a local hotel room, they agreed.
The next day I called Goodyear shop in NJ where i did the oil change work. they suggested a local Goodyear in VA. when i called the local Goodyear in VA they said they would replace the pan for 195 dollars labor plus the oil pan. Cash was limited so I called Goodyear in NJ back and they suggested to close the plug hole with a "sealant". The next day the Virgina service station took advice of Goodyear in NJ and proceeded to seal the leak. Unable to use the car that 2nd day as the sealant "cured" I rented a car to continue to NC. I returned in 2 days and retrieved my car.... for the cost of approximately $200.
the oil pan leak was now sealed.

so the 20 dollar oil change turned into
29. original oil change
125 hotel room
100 car rental
200 repairs

Its now an $455 dollar oil change...can i sue in small claims court? and for damages? or just the expenses?

and I still need to spend $350 dollars to replace the oil pan.

i have 189,000 miles on my car and never had an issue with any other oil change which I did every 4,000miles.
Goodyear NJ made no statements that I should replace the oil pan on the date of the original oil change...they did suggest 4 new tires however...LOL

help me please
