A UPS pkg with a $50 item and $200 in cash - sent to me, was signed for (by the manager) and delivered to the apartment manager's office. The economic crimes investigator states that she (the manager) no longer lives or works here, but that I should file a civil suit. Since the package totaled more than $200 can I file grand larceny charges also? Who is responsible - the actual manager or the company that owns the apartment complex? Also, checking my lease, there is nothing in it to indicate signing for or accepting packages for tenants.
Thank you in advance.
