What is the name of your state?CA

My grandma passed away and left her husband as primary executor. He has already passed away (b4 she did) and the next listing for executor is a bank. The will was written 27 years ago. Do we have to try to find this bank, we haven't been able to find a branch? Is there any way for us to petition the probate court to have a new executor (preferably one of the two remaining heirs) appointed as executor/s?

Thanks!

Post the name of the bank and the city/state here so I can try to find out the name of the current bank which may have bought them out. Then, if no luck (if the bank has not been bought out and is now defunct), then you can hire your own probate attorney to handle this.
