What is the name of your state? UK, England

Hi,

I am from the UK, but i believe that my situation is complex and may involve American law.

basically i signed up for a I.T. Course costing £3600, this course was to be learned independently through the course material and consisted of tutor support via the phone, and practical training at local hotels.

Bascally i recieved non of these services or they were poor, and believe i have been scammed, i only recieved the theory material, which consisted of four folders and had the same info in them as a £60 book from any book store on the IT course.

So i sent a letter of complaint off, yet got no-reply.

I have been talking to other affected students of this company on an American forum, i made statements about the company such as calling then a rogue company, and scammers that have broken the law.

They have now charged me with defamation, i have no-idea how they got my address or details from the online thread, as my username was anomalous.

As these statements were said on an American Website, can they still enforce English laws?
