I am a 22 year old resident in Texas. My problem is strange. I called the collection agency to pay a portion of my debt. They were not happy with the anount I offered to pay this month. So in turn they started to belittle me and mad me cry. Then that seemed to make them happy so they continued by saying things like, " Oh you are crying now, but you weren't when you were racking up the bill." Which of course made me more upset. Also this company is claiming to be a law office. So I asked to speak to the attorney and they transfered me to some lady that was even more rude. She told me that I could not speak to him I could only speak to her. I told her that I wanted to speak to a supervisor and she called me a f**cking cracker and hung up on me. I was so upset! Then after that they repeatedly called my cell phone a total of 12 times then my house 8 times all with in one hour. My mother witnessed all of this. I even have voice mails were the called me a Bitch and so on. So later in the day I called back to talk to the attorney again they gave me the run around. My point is that I know that they can't treat me this way and harrass me. But I am not sure what I can do about it. I also read that they can not act as an attorey or send me supposed legal documents. I have reson to beleive that they are acting in all of this things. I need to know what I can do as a consumer but one that does owe them $225.00. Please help me. Thank you.
