theft by deception

What is the name of your state? Kentucky

My mom wrote a check about a week and half ago they sent her a letter 2 days ago telling her it was a cold check.. she called today to make arrangements to pay and they said its done been sent to the county attorneys office.. she called them and they said it was up to the judge rather to put out a arrest warrant or not.. the check was for $29 and shes never been in any trouble with the law.. Do yall think she will go to jail or just have to go to court and pay

Thanks

Well well well. I thought this was Science lab and a Frog was involved. You don't mean dissection. You mean deception.
My first response was there must be more to this story, like who gets thrown in jail for writing a bad check... But then looked up Kentucky law... and WOW. It is a possiblity...
Sooo. How many does she have... If she has more than one, the judge won't
be a lookin' too kindly on that.
If she is really a first offender, She will most likely get probation and have to pay the court fees and such. upwards to $300.00 is what I calculate.
Good luck

Theft by dissection just had to hurt!

I tell ya: Have mom pay the check off before she goes to court. It will make her look better!
