I own a small home business in NY. Recently i distributed some flyers on cars in the parking lot of a local arena where a childrens expo was being held. A few days later i recieved a call from the promotor of the expo saying that he could sue me for theft of advertising. He stated that he has sued for this before and has always won, but told me that if i would book a booth at next years expo for $1900 he wouldn't take legal action. There were no posted signs for no soliciting and nothing on any of the advertisements for the expo stating this either. My quetion is, does he have a case? I've never heard of this before. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. He gave me 10 days to give him a 50% deposit, otherwise he says he will take legal action. TIA
