What is the name of your state?Arizona
Got hit in the right front of my beautiful 87 buick lesabre (only 100K miles)
His insurance will pay but says It's totaled. Yes it might be close to totaled
but according to nada it wouldn't be. they say I have to get a salvage title to keep the car. The car would sell at auction for far more than the $450 salvage
to buy it back. Just right front damage fender, headlight, barely the hood, but all cosmetic. I have a body man to fix for far less than their car value estimate. I don't want a salvage title and would take less money so I don't have to.
Is their anywhere I can go to get a legal binding estimate to weigh in my favor.
I'm third party and just want to get my beautiful old car fixed. I only carry liability but if I can get it fixed W/O salvage I will get collision so my Insurance can help me. They set the price, set the amount and won't recognize my estimate, and won't negotiate for less money.

Am I just SOL?

Yes, sorry, you're SOL (to use your term). You can either take the money they're offering you, and have the vehicle titled as salvage, or pay to fix it yourself and not take any money from them. These are your two choices.

Having collision on your policy wouldn't help you in this situation, btw. Your insurance company would still have to give it a salvage title.
