Thesis option in Grad school

What is the name of your state? Missouri.
I am an internation graduate student . I was given financial assistance by my department for a year . Now for the past one year they have not given me any financial assistance. I donot prefer to do a thesis option now after trying to do for almost an year. I had tried for converting from thesis to Non Thesis option some time back . But the department chair rejected it. I donot know what they will do if i try for it again. I want to gradute now in dec and leave. Can you please tell me if they will force me to stick on to the thesis option . What is the education law in missouri . Can some body help me in this regard.

what history do u want to know about the school . I was told the schools in missouri give the right to the student ( this is a hearsay stuff ). The department does has a thesis option and has left many students aided by the deparment to go off in NON-thesis option in the past. So wat else can i do then ?

Usually when you choose a particular program you are locked into a tract leading to your degree. You should have an advisor and you may request assistance in your project. Did you have difficulity passing the TOEFL test? Are you having difficulity with your studies?

Actually the defficulty is my relationship with my advisor is not that very good. And is pretty rough and i Have few mails of his which are very strong against my gradutation.

Working with your advisor is essential, that is the name of the game.
But you have to improve your use of the English language to graduate, that is why I asked about the TOEFL test.

yeah my toefl is not very great. But the problem is, the task was complicated when i was about to graduate and had to stay back for a sememster. He has sent me mails which says he is against my grad. My I 20 gets oer by the end of this year and he says i will not be given my degree if i donot complete my thesis.

You cannot graduate if you do not demonstrate competence in your field, this is a graduate degree you are getting, they just can't hand it to you because you want it. Now you have an immigration question?

I suggest you find someone to tutor you and help you finish your thesis otherwise you will be going home without your degree. The reason they give the TOEFL is to make sure your use of the English language is sufficient, and even then it is not always enough for some degrees. For example I knew a foreign student from India, she spoke English well and passed the TOEFL with no problem, however, when it came to the practical use in psychological testing clients, her working use of the language did not permit her to continue her studies because she could not accurately test Native English speakers, because her understanding of the words were different.

That is why you will need help to finish your degree otherwise you might be better off finishing it in your contry where language isn't a problem.

I am having difficulty in doing my thesis and not in showing competence in the field . I have a 4.0 GPA in the course work. And the reason given here in my condition is not the english as a problem but the department paying me for soem duration of my studies. My understanding of my subject was considered good by many faculty . the problem is only in the thesis as ther is lack of help from the proff. so inspite of these should I . What sort of attorneys deal with these kind of issues.
