What is the name of your state? ny

well this is what happened,i am a member of a forum.and this other girl(lives in oregon) on the forum was interested in buying some items i had.so we decided we would both send out our stuff(me the item, her the payment)on the same day, then pm each other with the tracking # on the postal packages.so i sent mine out on the agreed upon day,and gave her the tracking #.she told me she sent hers out too and gave me a tracking#.well she recieved her item days ago.i havent gotten a thing, and the tracking # she gave me for the usps website says there is no record of this item.since she recieved her package i havent heard from her.i have messaged her 4 times so far with no response.i think she gave me a bogus tracking # and never sent the payment.so at this point i am out over $200 in merchandise and $25 in shipping costs.besides having her kicked off the forum, what can i do?is there anyway for me to get my $$ from her?

Go to Oregon and sue her in small claims court. P.T. Barnum was right.
Lol Racer72, you mean the “There's a sucker born every minute” quote? zeekatha07 please understand that Racer72 isn't trying to be cruel, only honest. You got suckered and this gal probably well knows that you're not likely to travel all the way from New York to Oregon over $200.00 Very few people would! I'm one who just out of principal darned well would, but most wouldn't and she's gambled that you're one of those who would not.

There are a couple of things that you could possibly do though that may make her miserable, or worry her a enough to return your money or item! Personally I would be pushing the local police in her area to pursue charges of internet fraud against her by filing a complaint with them. I hope you have log files of your chats and emails between you both to back up your story! Try phoning her local police claiming that she's defrauded you over the internet and provide them with her emails that shows she deliberately deceived you by providing the fake UPS or USPS tracking number she sent on her email. Also these shipping places surely wouldn't be pleased someone used their fake tracking numbers from their system to defraud you, and if in fact it was the US Postal Service that she used then that may possibly be considered Mail Fraud... Run with it awhile and see where it takes you, at least be a thorn in her side awhile. Let us know the outcome.

Good luck,
SnowCajun
