I got my oil change done at Brogan Cadillac located in North Brunswick, NJ about two weeks ago. On my way to work the next day the low oil light came on. So I pulled into a nearby gas station and bought some engine oil and poured in the engine and started driving again. After a couple of minutes the car started shaking and smoking. I pulled over to the side of the highway and stopped the engine. I gave it a couple minutes and when I tried to start the car again but couldn't.
I towed my car to a nearby mechanic and when he looked at my car, he found out that when Brogan Cadillac did the oil change, they left the gasket on... I contacted the dealer and told them to tow my car from the local mechanic and see what they did. They told me to get another oil change done there and bring the bill for them to pay.
When I picked up my car the next day I found out that there was something wrong with the car. I brought my car straight to the dealer and after examining and finding out there was a problem with the engine they started to denying the whole thing.
I have a statement from the mechanic who looked at my car saying that there was the gasket from the old oil filter still on when he looked at my car and I also saved the oil filter.
I brought my car to a different Pontiac dealer and they are telling me that I need to put a new engine in and it will cost about $5,000.00 dollars. I'm still in school and I can't even go to my classes these days because I don't have money to spend on taxi rides anymore. I've already spent over $1,000.00 dollars on diagnostic charges and taxi rides. I need all the legal advises I can get. Please help me!!!!!!
