What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts
OK here is what has gone on so far. About 5 years ago my sons mother decided to go live with her mother in Vermont of course lying to me and saying it was because her mom was sick and it would be only for 2 weeks. But at the time since court scared me and things were going ok with me being able to see him. then about 4 months later she decided to disappear. So in that i went to seek out a lawyers help. Who had told me that since the state had taken me to court due to her having him on state health insurance that jurisdiction was set. An thanks to believing this lawyer i took some time before going to file anything(thought i had to find where she went first) an when i did was told that i lost jurisdiction at the courthouse.
Well she disappeared had left me with no contact with my son for 4 years until she finally decided to contact me around Nov/Dec of 07 and then she moved back to Massachusetts in January of 08. Things were going good for some time. Then about a month ago she played a disappearing act again. I have found out directly from her that she has now moved back to Florida. Also that she moved back there on February 8th.
Now my 2 biggest things i need to know is since she was back in Massachusetts for over a year can i get jurisdiction in Massachusetts???
An my other question is since she was living in a different county then i was do i have to file in that county or can i still file in my own?????
