What is the name of your state? Oklahoma
I bought a 1989 Dodge truck less than 48 hours ago and I feel truly sick. When I was test driving it, it made a funny noise (not too loud, just a noise). The dealer told me it was a good truck, and it was cute. He said all trucks made in the late 80s have some quirk to them, and told me not to be too concerned, so thinking well, he ought to know, I went ahead and put my money down on it.
Unfortunately, after driving it almost to the Texas line, this thing started making noises that would drive the Pope crazy! It started popping, and something sounded like it was trying to fall off. That's when I informed my husband of the situation. He came with my cousin's husband and they went and got a couple hundred bucks in parts from a parts store, and spent a few hours putting them on. They changed the wheel bearings, spark plugs, and did other things and it still sounds like crap.
My cousin's husband, who knows about mechanics, told me that this truck was an unwise investment and he started talking about rear-end problems, a pulling feeling, and a lot of other defects with this heap of ____. My husband said that pulling feeling, which only happens in Drive and is accompanied by a very noticeable jerk, may be a sign of Drive going out- a transmission problem! Brother!
My cousin, well, she started talking about something called a "voluntary repo." This truck said on the windshield Good Work Truck. Right!
I get the feeling I've been taken.
I want either my money back or a different vehicle. Can I demand either?
I wonder how long I have here in Oklahoma to change my mind on a contract?
