What is the name of your state?Massachusetts
I don't even know what category this would come under.
My daughter just called me, very upset. (and is actually experiencing chest pains right now over this) She was shopping with a friend and my 2 grandchildren, ages 3 and 1. She was trying to get the 3 yr. old to try on certain boots, etc...in the children's shoe aisle. He was crying and refusing, etc...and my daughter asked an employee about the price.
The employee told my grandson to shut up because she was getting a headache. My daughter was trying to quiet her son...and get info from the sales clerk.
The clerk then told him again to shut up, and raised her arm up saying "Ohhhh...I ought to..."
as if to strike him. My daughter and her friend left immediately, and she has tried to contact the large retailer's corporate headquarters...but was only able to leave a message as it is Saturday, early evening. What should she do? (This is a large chain, ending with the word "Mart")

She should return to the store and find the manager and file a complaint immediately.

Other than that, she can file a police report IF the friend also witnessed the incident.

This has nothing to do with slander/libel but with assault .
