What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

I am a UK citizen living and working in USA.
I was recently on holiday in UK with my wife.
We visited my wife's parents where my mother in law pleaded for us to remove her from the marital house, she packed her bags and we moved her to a safe house provided by the city council.
Now her husband is threatening to sue me (and my wife) for Slander for all my assets
Can he sue me in the US, can he sue me in the UK, can he request I go back to UK to face these trumped up charges

Thanks very much for a reply

This forum is for US laws only, so you will have to consult with an attorney in UK, also remember just because he might be able to sue doesn't mean that he would prevail especially if the town provided refuge.

He could also sue you here, but would have to come here to do it and have grounds, so far none are mentioned, plus the suit would be thrown out for several reasons.
