I am 18 years old and was recently issued a citation for being a minor in consumption, minor in possesion, and having a fake I.D. I know that I had it comming to me, but I need advice on what I should do. This is my first run in with the law, and along with my two other friends, I have a court date in early April. They gave me the option of paying my fine (I don't know how much that is yet) before I go to court. I have heard from friends that if I go to court the judge might drop one or two of the charges and give me community service if he/she is nice, or could bump it up to a felony. I don't know what the conditions are in Nevada. What do you think I should do? Court or no court?

I have been in your shoes.....in october i was arrested and charged with 2 felonies...and i got out of it with a program called pre-trial intervention.....its kinda like probabtion...but i figured i would tell you that you should pay your fines that would make the judge happy to see that you are trying.....you could get lucky and have some of the charges dropped....but whatever authorities tell you that you should do....do it....i did and now in 18 months my charges will be taken off my record....and if this is your first offense you could try for the pti program also.....its worth it!
