Ticket, didn't require me to sign

I received a ticket for having an expired registration on my car (non-moving violation). The officer did not require me to sign the ticket in the "WITHOUT ADMITTING GUILT, I promise to comply with the terms of this Ticket and Release". Would this be able to be thrown out on the technicality of signing a ticket?

Regardless, I have just re-registered my car at the DMV the first day that I could. If I cannot fight this on the technicality, would it be worth my while to go to court anyway for a plea?

Meaning, you are not required to sign a ticket in order for it to be valid.

I thought so, but I just wanted to make sure before doing anything about it.
