What is the name of your state?Michigan

Hi I recieved an MIP about a week ago and i was wondering isn't there ways that you can get out of tickets if there are errors on it? The cop wrote up my MIP as a Civil Infraction instead of a Misd, and the cop also spelled my last name wrong on the ticket. is there any hope for me? thanks

None of those mistakes have anything to do with the elements of the crime.

Maybe he's permitted to drop it to a civil infraction?

Mention it in court and see what happens. My guess is that nothing will happen, but we don't have "civil infractions" in CA, so I can't say WHAT would happen.

But, we DO have misdemeanor offenses that can be charged as infractions (all criminal).

On the other hand, the cite could be amended.

Bottom line is, you'llknow when you bring it up in court. But, as a backup plan, I'd suggest something else ... like a defense.

SJ, even when you separated it well, explained it was a signature line and shrunk it; your sig. line just isn't working for you. :D :D :D
