3 years ago I got a ticket that went into collections. Now I am being told that even though I can renew my license, I have to pay the collection agency first. I don't have that type of money.
To make matters worse, I got a bogus ticket this year. The officer was off his bike putting something in the pouch when I saw him. I was driving approx 40mph ( to the tempo of a slow song ) and I saw him pulling behing me.
When I stated "I couldn't have been speeding due to the tempo"; he proceeded to write the ticket with added sacarsm " the singer of the slow song wasn't driving".
It angered me because I was just about to have my license renewed after 3 years.
But on the other hand; is the ticket valid even though it was written on a ID that resembles a license?

My response:

Now I can go to my grave, and truthfully say, I've heard it all. Isn't the "slow tempo" excuse something jokesters put on those Internet E-mail joke lists?

Thank God she wasn't listening to "Revolution" or "Helter Skelter".

Your sarcasm doesn't amuse me.

My response:

Perhaps not. But, it was extremely amusing for us. I really enjoyed the "tempo" excuse.

It also appears that you are not amused by too many people; even people "in the know" - - like the police officer and us, the contributors on this Board. What's really scary however, is that you ACTUALLY believe in that "tempo" excuse.

And when the judge hears your excuse, I imagine you won't be "amused" by his sarcasm either when he gets that smirk on his face and says, "Guilty - - pay the fine."

What's going to be even funnier about it, is all the people in the courtroom, who'll be listening to you, will likewise, be chuckling.

But then, all of those people "just don't understand you".

Thanks again for the laughs.
