NY statute 108.69-147373a sub. c.4/7. Double Parking. It shall be illegal to double park on any street, road, byway, highway, freeway, safeway, right of way, court, avenue, alley or any other street, road, byway, highway, freeway, safeway, right of way, court, avenue, alley that allows parallel parking for a period of more than 24 seconds. This statute does not apply to any person stopped on the street, road, byway, highway, freeway, safeway, right of way, court, avenue, alley that is waiting on a legal or illegal traffic control device. Exceptions to this law include all limosines or any luxury automobile that is worth twice the average yearly wage of any random 25 state residents. This law also excludes any vehicles that contains persons of fame from the entertainment or political fields and is being driven by someone besides the entertainer or politician. The following vehicles are not allowed to double park for any reason: any Chevrolet passenger car or light truck, any Ford passenger car with any dents or rust, any import car in the subcompact category or any vehicle more than 10 years old. The fine shall be double if the reason for violating this statute involves the purchasing of any caffienated beverage.
