What is the name of your state? iowa

I was ticketed for failure to maintain control of my vehical.
The situation was: the road was icy...the city had not or not very well sanded. I was going up a steep hill, which the cop later told me I should advoid in the winter, once I reached the top there is an intersection. My car lost control and slide into another vehical in the turning lane of approarching traffic. Other cars were sliding around but none reported an accident.

How should I fight this? Would it be a good fight saying the city lack of road maintaince was the cause.

My car is in good working condition, tire pressure good,

It is my first ticket ever.

You can't fight the ticket, nor responsibility for the accident. YOU failed to maintain control of your vehicle. If you don't know how to drive in icy conditions, then you should stay home when it's icy.
