Four years ago my ex-husband took me to court for full custody of our sons (I was granted my sons primary care giver). He did this not because I was a bad mother but because he had a new wife and wanted to make them a ready made family. The courts gave him the same visitation that we agreed upon before lawyers were involved however, he got off with absolutley no child support to pay because I made $5k more then him. My sons are now 16 and 13 and are totally frustrated with the back and forth and their step mother is less than welcoming to them when they are over there. Their grades in school have dropped significantly and their father puts more time and resources into his two kids with his current wife leaving me to pay for ALL of our sons clothes, shoes, lunch money, extra curriculum activities and all the running around town that teenagers need. Their father is not supportive of them and I want the visitation and child support to be reviewed by the courts. My question is, are my sons old enough to have an opinion with the visitation and since I pay 90% of all their needs will the courts end the child support I pay him ($34 a month)?

My response:

You said, ". . . I pay 90% of all their needs will the courts end the child support I pay him ($34 a month)?"

I don't understand that statement. If you pay $34.00 per month for two boys, are you saying that that amount is 90% of their needs?

Maybe on all fronts....go get a consult with a local attorney.
