What is the name of your state?KY

My son had his last appointment with the GAL back in May. She said she'd write up a report for the judge (to determine custody-I have sole now, but the father wants him)...I have not heard ANYTHING from anyone so far. Is it normal for it to take this long for a judge to decide? Just getting a little worried....

Well...it normally doesn't work that way. Normally the GAL submits the report to the judge and both attorneys, then its up to one of the attorneys to set the matter for a hearing. (generally in a case like this it would be dad's attorney who would do that). So, either one of a few things is probably going on. Either you have a REALLY slow GAL, or the report isn't in dad's favor so he/his attorney is not pushing for a hearing, or there is some other reason why his attorney isn't pushing for a hearing (like dad hasn't paid his bill etc.).

Have you talked to your attorney? If you don't have an attorney have you talked to the GAL about the report and the fact that you have not recieved a copy?

You could also go down to the courthouse and see what's in the file.
