time limit on security deposit?

One year and three months ago I moved out of a room I was renting and for which I had paid a $450 security deposit. I did not contact the landlord about getting my security deposity back at the time I moved out but now I am about to do so. I still have the lease with the section about the security deposit. Is there a time limit after which I'm legally unable to get the security deposit back? Thanks for any help.
