First off, I live in Indiana. I have full custody of my 7 year old son. My ex husband has visitation. My question is, what is abandonment? My exhusband has had my son 2 weekends since Thanksgiving. Both of the times, either myself or my present husband has brought the child to him. He calls and says he will come and get him and then doesn't. He leaves messages on the answering machine saying he'll be there and then doesn't show up. My son really has no interest in seeing him because my ex has lied to him so many times. A friend of mine was talking about "abandonment" and I really don't know what that means. My exhusband does pay child support on my child. I didn't know if that makes a difference or not. Could you please explain "abandonment" to me? THANKS!
