What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

NY-- I have a question that pertains to real estate in legal situations. I have someone that purchased a condo. My concern is that when they have reached the closing or so, the name that was decided to put under the owner of the apartment was their son's wife. However, she no longer lives in this state or country or is a citizen of this country. How can you change the owner's name of the condo apartment and if you can do that at all? I appreciate your help. Thanks!

**A: unless the Seller agrees, the name must be changed after closing has occurred.

NY--Home Guru, your answer was- "unless the Seller agrees, the name must be changed after closing has occurred."
I do not really understand by what you mean. Which seller are you referring to? There is no seller. The condo is not for sale. And closing was done already. The condo was purchased a couple of years ago.

**A: thanks for your clarification. If what you are asking is to transfer title, then consult a real estate attorney or perhaps divorce attorney.
