Hi there,

I was recently divorced from my husband who is a resident of Tennessee. I am a resident of Florida. He started a divorce action in TN after being served with papers by a FL court and despite my now having gotten a divorce.

I filed a Motion to Dismiss with the TN court including a copy of the divorce degree. They denied the motion stating that TN has jurisdiction over me. (I lived there for 6 mths with husband before moving back to FL.) How do I respond to this?

I am a student, do not have the means to hire a TN attorney. However I did attempt to hire one to go into court asking for full refund of expenses as ex-spouse is forcing me back into court. The attorney would not do it. Apparently there this is a homeboy network and am not sure that I can get an attorney to sue for expenses. What can I do?
