Citizen of the State of PA:
I recently have given birth to my daughter. I am currently 17 and will be 18 in about a month and a half. I was wondering if I am able to move out of my house and in with my boyfriend's family without the concent of my parents. They are giving me a hard time, and I say they will report me as a runaway if I would leave. Would I get in trouble if I move out despite their threats? I was told in the hospital by a nurse that I was emancipated, but my mother told me that it only meant medically. Please help! If knowing the County in which I reside in would help in any way, I live in Berks County.
Thank you!
No, you may not. There is a difference between medical emancipation and legal emancipation. Having a child does not legally emancipate you. Having a baby while still a child proves you need more supervision, not that you should be allowed to live out on your own. You get to make your own medical decisions (and decisions for your child), but you don't get to decide where to live.
Yes, you could get in trouble if you decide to disobey them.
You seriously cannot just stick it out for another 45 days?
