What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA or IL

I worked as employee (on annual salary, and on H1B visa) with an IT consulting company, who was registered in Pittsburgh, PA (when I joined them).

Later on, that company moved to Chicago, IL & currently operates from Chicago Downtown, IL office.

1. To which State’s Labor Department, I should file his complaint…= ?

• Should I file to Labor Department - State of PA (where employer was based when hired me & filed my H1B visa transfer)…OR… to Labor Department - State of IL (where employer is currently operating from)…?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Who's complaint? Who is "he"?

The complaint is filed to the state in which the work was actually performed. The state in which the company is based has nothing to do with it.

I just did.

To the labor department of whatever state the work was done in. If work was done in more than one state, you report it to the state in which the work that was paid improperly was performed. If that means you make more than one report, then you make more than one report.

In the state that you were physically located.

I don't know how many more ways there are to say it.

If that answer isn't enough for you, then file it wherever you damn well please. File it in Timbuctoo if it will make you happy.

I give up.
