I was a smoker for 13 years having quit less than a year ago. I am now 27 so as you can see I started at the tender age of 13. I was smoking a pack a day by 15. Over the time I smoked I spent at least $10,000 dollars on tobacco products. I would say at least $3,500 before I was 18. I would like to attempt to recoup some of this money as I feel that I was as a minor targeted by Camel and Marlboro with their ad tactics. What are the chances of filing a small claim case for the money I spent before I was 18 as I was not old enough to legaly buy cigerettes. No damages just the cost of smokes figured at $2.00 x 365 x 5 =$3700.

My response:
Nice try, but no. These lawsuits have been preempted by Federal law - - so, you'd have to file in Federal court. And besides, no damages, no lawsuit.
