i have entered the usa with a tourist visa. it expired (in july). i have a son who is u.s. citizen and he is going to fill out the petition so that i may adjust my immigration status. is this possible despite my current status (ie: that my tourist visa has expired?)
is it ok if i stay in the u.s. while waiting for my status to change, or do i have to return and wait for the forms to go through?
am i still legal to stay here in this country?
