What is the name of your state? DC
Hello again all. A friend of mine's Car was towed today, and when we went to go get it about an hour after it was towed they charged us 250.00, they claimed that because it was a 4 wheel drive truck (mitsubishi Montero Sport) they charged $150.00 impound fee and $75.00 for a dollie that they said they need to tow the truck because it had locking brakes or whatever. They also charged a 25.00 fee for putting it on their lot. What is the law for towing fees in DC, is this practice legal.

thanks:mad:

Was the area clearly marked as a tow away zone? The fee doesn't sound unusual to me. Exhorbitant, yes. Unusual, no.

It was truly think that it was parked In a tow away zone. I just wanted to know if there were any laws governing that these guys can charge such rates. They seem so unlawful..but I guess that's the price one pays. Thanks for the responses! :)
