I live in NY and ordered a little over $500 from Toysrus via Amazon this Christmas. Though Toysrus disappointed me last year, I thought I would give it another try this year since Amazon.com took over their internet division. When I placed my order on November 11, all of the items were in stock and available for shipping within 2-3 business days. I have been receiving some packages, delivered to a second address. I checked the status of my order on December 6 and found that the expected delivery dates on 11 of the 26 items I ordered is December 11-27. That is ridiculous. I e-mailed Amazon and their representative told me that 8 of the 15 items in question are delayed in shipping and 3 are unavailable. Meanwhile, I have received 2 promotional e-mails from Amazon and Toysrus guaranteeing on-time, free shipping for in-stock items until December 10 for new orders over $100! How can they get away with this? Of course I will be forced to cancel the balance of my order and hit the stores, but does the consumer have any other recourse? Thanks in advance for any input.
