My mother, age 87, had a Certificate for 100 shares of Chase Manhattan Corporation. We have a photostat of the Certificate with the Cusip No. but the original she cannot find.

I can find a record that she had the stock in a Charles Schwab account in 1991 but after that all record of the shares were lost. She has always had an accounting firm prepare her tax return, and the returns since 1991 show no sale of chase manhattan stock. The stock would be worth a lot today if we could find it. Does anyone know where to start with this?

Chase merged with JP Morgan and the firm is now called JP Morgan Chase. The place to look is on your Schwab statement. And if there is no JP Morgan Chase, call Schwab and ask what happened.

Just out of curiosity, can you get reprints of statements from Schwab going back 10 years??
