What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN. I designed a product and have a name in mind for it but when I googled the name, the results showed a marketing display company with the same name. My product is not in the marketing industry. If this company name is trademarked will that affect my product being trademarked?

It could possibly affect your product's trademark, yes.

For example, your product may have absolutely nothing to do with cameras (say you are starting a clothing line), but you would have a hard time using the name "Kodak." On the other hand, you could potentially name your clothing line "Campbell's," even though it is a recognizable soup company name.

There are a lot of facts and factors that must be considered. Choosing a completely unique name for your product is always the best way to avoid any potential conflict.
