Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if I would have a problem trademarking the term vid judge for a website where people can judge entertainment and non entertainment videos as well as set up competitions and contests.

There is another trademark for video judge, below is their description for their trademark.

Film and video production; Photographic and video services, namely, photographic and video capture; Production and distribution of videos in the field of performance competitions with accompanying commentary; Production of DVDs featuring performance competitions with accompanying commentary; Production of DVDs, videotapes and television programs featuring performance competitions with accompanying commentary; Production of video discs and tapes; Production of video discs for others; Video production services. FIRST USE: 20051101. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20070203

I see problems with your considered name of "vid judge," yes. The names could be viewed as confusingly similar and there is an overlap in the consumer markets.

I recommend you look into a trademark to identify your business that is uniquely your own.
