What is the name of your state? FL

My brother in law runs a business, offering webhosting services on the internet. He is situated outside the USA. He received an email from a company situated in the USA using the name of my brother in law's company as a trademark. They requested him to not use the name anymore while they have it federally registered and it might cause confusing. My brother in law registered this same name 2 years ago in the country where he is situated. His services are different than the services of the USA based company. On the website of my brother in law appears a PO box in the USA.

In my opinion he does not have anything to do with the federal laws of the USA, while he is not situated in the USA and not a USA citizen.

Is this true?
