I have established a .org website to display information on a non-profit basis. I live in California.

There is no formal or formed Organization behind the site.
It is not, nor will it, trade.

Do I need to trademark, patent or copyright the name to protect it and/or prevent a (for profit) company from using it?

If so, what is a good website that can assist me cheaply but reliably?

Thanks!

Name Question...

For some odd reason, no one wants to tackle a question like this. It's similar to a "stage name" question I asked a few days ago.

Later,

To both of you, I would suggest you visit the below site and spend a few hours doing the necesary research. Or go hire a patent and copyright attorney. The rules and regulations are immense and would require a complicated answer that most do not have the time to do on this board. Good luck. http://pw1.netcom.com/~patents2/thefirm.html
