So I invested in a company along with my father (who is the accredited investor between the two of us). We bought the shares and my dad signed and notarized the back to transfer them to me. After reading up on restricted securities, I'm not sure if this transfer is valid or not. What, if anything else, do we need to do to transfer the shares to me?

His thought was that since they were a gift and not a real sale it was OK, but he's not a securities expert by any means.
